§ 52-1.1. Statutory authority.

Pursuant to § 181 of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, the Town Board of the Town of North Hempstead is granted the authority to regulate the registration and licensing of taxicabs, limit the number of taxicabs to be licensed, and regulate parking and passenger pickup and discharge by taxicabs, limousines and livery vehicles operating within its jurisdiction.
