§ 41B-18. Exercise of police power.

This entire ordinance shall be deemed and construed to be an exercise of the police power of the Town of North Hempstead for the preservation and protection of public safety and is enacted pursuant to the authority contained in § 1660 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York, §§ 130 and 220 of the Town Law of the State of New York and § 72-j of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York. All of its provisions shall be liberally construed with a view to the effectuation of such purpose.
